Who We Are

On June 4, 1953, in an old garage building on the corner of Stark road and 175, Reverend Waymon Harold Evans along with his family and a few others started Roadside Baptist Church, later to become Robinwood Baptist Church.  As Seagoville and Southeast Dallas grew, so did Robinwood.  From that small garage the church grew to include multiple buildings equipped to minister to hundreds of people.  Over the last decade, the community has seen a shift as Dallas moves to the country.  With this shift, Robinwood has had to make a shift to focus on reaching the community for Christ.  With this transition to a more missional focus, Robinwood is ready for the excitement of the future.

Mission Statement

Robinwood Baptist Church exists to take Jesus to Seagoville and Beyond by Exalting the Savior, Equipping the Saints, and Evangelizing Sinners.

Church Covenant

Having been led as we believe by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, we do now in the presence of God and this assembly most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ:

  • To Love Jesus:
    • by submitting to the authority of the Scriptures as the final arbiter on all issues (Psalm 119; 2 Timothy 3:14-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21);
    • by engaging in regular Bible reading, prayer, fellowship and practice of spiritual disciplines (Luke 18:1; Acts 17:11; 1 Corinthians 9:24-27; Ephesians 5:15-21);
    • by striving to walk in holiness in all areas of life as an act of worship to Jesus Christ (Romans 12:1-2; Hebrews 12:1-2; 1 Peter 1:13-16, 4:1-3);
    • by striving to win others to faith by pointing them to Christ (Acts 1:8, Matthew 28:18-20);
  • To Love One Another:
    • By watching over one another in brotherly love; remembering one another in prayer; exhorting and encouraging each other unto every good word and work (Hebrews 10:24, 1 Thessalonians 5:12-22);
    • By protecting the reputation of others by refraining from gossip or slander (Ephesians 4:25-32);
    • By taking seriously the responsibility of Christian freedom, especially actions or situations that could present a stumbling block to another (1 Corinthians 8:1-13);
    • By holding one another accountable to the commitments of this covenant (James 5:19-20);
  • To Love Robinwood Baptist Church
    • By faithfully attending Church gatherings and functions, including participation in the Lord’s Supper (Hebrews 10:25);
    • By cheerfully supporting the mission and ministry of RBC through financial giving (1 Corinthians 9:13-14, 2 Corinthians 9:1-15);
    • By actively participating in RBC ministry through the utilization of spiritual gifts (Ephesians 4:7-16);
  • To Love Church leadership:
    • By following Christ by supporting the Pastor, staff, and elected leaders of the Church as they follow Christ (Hebrews 13:17);
    • By striving for peace and unity within the Church body (1 Corinthians 1:10, Philippians 2:1-4);
    • By submitting to Spiritual discipline as outlined in the Bylaws (Matthew 18:.15-20);

We moreover engage that if we remove from this place we will as soon as possible unite with some other church where we will carry out this spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s word.
